iPhone is now able to MMS !
29Jun08Well… before you say anything, let me explain. Yes… it sound stupid that a nextgen handphone like iPhone is unable to send or receive MMS. You asked why? Blame Apple ! Bah ! I’m pretty sure that one of the reason is Apple afraid that MMS on iPhone would be used for sending mp3 illegally, which will be ruined Apple iTunes Store since it one of the money source for them.
But afraid no more my fellow iPhone user :D Thanks to “SwirlyMMS” - a 3rd party application for jailbroken iPhone - now we are able to send and receive: images, text, audio, video, in fact, you can send and receive any file we like! ZOMG yeah !
Since I’m using Singtel Prepaid Card, so I will give the setting to configure the MMS
Setting-General-Network-Edge
APN: hicard
Username: 659999999 (your phone number)
Password: (your ideas password)Under SwirlyMMS Setting

Twitter is a service for friends, family, and co–workers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing?
What would you say if you can follow update on what your belove family or friend doing with just a as simple as sms? In Twitter you allowed to receive sms update on every person that you follow by turning on the device update on specific person. So lets say A follow the update from B, and B has been followed by A, C and D. Every time B updated his status, Twitter will sms his updated status by sms to A, C and D ! And you can enjoy to receive free 250 sms/week *more than enough I think*
Other than that you can also send free private direct sms to any person from the Twitter website, and the sms will be sent directly to the person by sms! and you can send as much as you want *unlimited* as long as the person that you sending has not reach his weekly limit.
My self has registered to Twitter for less than a week and found out that It’s very addictive :D and feel free to follow me on My Twitter and by the way if you notice that on my blog sidebar, there’s live update of my twiiter.

iPhone 3G coming on July 11th

10 June 1am Singapore time, which is 10am of 9th June at WWDC, San Fransisco. I stayed up late to watch online coverage from macrumorslive.com about the launching of iPhone 3G. The overall new features from this 3G phone are
- New shaped design - the back of the phone is more curvy with one solid color either black or white
- Faster data transferring (3G), you are now able to surf net with 3G connection while you making a call
- Built-in A-GPS
- Came with 2.0 firmware (all feature from this firmware can also be updated into 2.5G iPhone, except the new hardware functions)
- Geo-Tagging when you take a picture (the iPhone will automatically tag your photo depending on the country/city you are on, by maximizing the uses of GPS)

Honestly, as the owner of first gen iPhone, I’m quite disappointed with the new model. Apple can do much more than this ! I was expecting that 3G iPhone will at least have these upgraded functions, but well…
- No secondary camera for video conference
- No improvement on camera pixels (remain 2MP)
- Unable to send MMS (stupid huh? I know…)
- Unable to copy/paste text
- No flash content on safari (yet?)
- Unable to send/receive files through bluetooth (either image or mp3)
- No A2DP Profile
- No ability to set mp3 as ringtone (another stupidty? once again, I know…)
And the most disappointing part is, activation of iPhone will be in-store only and tied with a contract. That means no more activation at home. Even though the prices that they stated on the conference are *surprisingly* very damn cheap (USD$199 for 8GB and USD$299 for 16GB) but hey… the (maybe) good news is iPhone will be launched in Singapore by this year, probably… end of July? expected to be pay more for this high end tied up contract.
For 2.5G iPhone users, please don’t rush on selling your iPhone, as some of the main features we’re looking forward to included on firmware 2.0 !!

So yeah… for now I’m good with my 2.5G iPhone, hopes that 2.0 firmware to be cracked soon *finger crossed*

Singapore Parking Rates
02Jun08Now that I have gotten my driving license, finding car parks in Singapore could be quite tricky ahaha few days ago I drove my friend’s car and I didn’t know about parking rates in Singapore and yeah I got charge more than $10 for only few hours *ROFL* for me IT IS important to find a correct car parks at the correct place and times LOL (I’m not Singaporean, so well…)
Here I compile Singapore Parking Rates into iPhone friendly, just drop the the “Parking Rates” folder into “/private/var/mobile/Sites/” (you need SSH access) and open the files using iPhone html viewer or any similar apps for offline viewing (I recommended WildEyes)

you can simply read it online using WiFi from my site
